- PROTECT a WILD CLUTCH of the MARY RIVER TURTLE
Your sponsorship will help increase the hatchling population of endangered Mary River turtles by 15 (the average number in a wild laid clutch).
$200 will purchase nest protection materials, identification and protection of a nest and checking the results.
- ADOPT a BABY TURTLE
While your adopted turtle cannot join you at home, the funds you donate for this symbolic adoption will support turtle conservation in the Mary River.
A donation of $30 will help increase the population of wild hatchlings by one.

Learn all about turtles and their habitat and share this information with your friends.
Never use stainless steel hooks when fishing as they do not degrade.
Remove weeds from creek and river banks.
Remove water weeds (eg water hyacinth and salvinia) as they degrade turtle habitat by depleting oxygen, light and temperature.
Do not throw rubbish especially plastic into any waterway.
Do not use gullies for dumping inorganic rubbish.
Help pick up rubbish especially plastic drums, bottles, polystyrene so they don’t end up in Great Sandy Straits.
